In EHE I read The UC student investment proposal and The open letter to chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi. For P2. I am interested in doing the UC student investment proposal. I believe I could help solve the issue of students not being able to afford college, or not applying because they don't have enough money to attend if they get accepted. I know it can be scary and difficult to try and pay for college because I am college student going through the same thing right now. I think a solution would be to have to not pay while attending college, but instead be able to just pay off a certain amount every month after graduation. It will be much easier for graduates to pay for college when they have a stable job, and they're main focus is to make money and pay off debt, instead of be focused on school. If students can't focus on their education while attending school and are only thinking about their debt or how they're going to pay their bills, they will have a higher chance of dropping out due to bad grades. This is an exigency issue because the sooner we can implement the new policy, the more students will be able to attend college and help make this country a lot more economically sound. The staff and board of UC are a great audience because they actually have the power to make this idea into reality.
